At the beginning of April, the Environmental Approvals Branch was moved or amalgamated with the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Branch. This means that all government activities impacting the onsite wastewater industry are housed under one branch of government where previously they were not.
This is positive for the industry as there was previously a disconnect between regulation, policy, and training development provided by the Environmental Approvals Branch, and the inspection, compliance, and enforcement services provided by the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Branch.
